Anyone who comes from a religious background has to come to terms with their indoctrination in adulthood. It can be a difficult process to figure out how the lessons you heard as a child still have profound effects later in life. This is perhaps a larger task for women as they are often taught to hide their bodies, serve their husbands, and lower their voices. Melissa joins me on the podcast once again to discuss her process of recognizing the ways in which her religious upbringing has impacted her and how she is healing from the trauma she experienced.
